We’re Susan & John, wedding photographers creating natural, candid images of weddings across Ireland. We love telling the story of each couple’s day through genuine, timeless images, blending reportage with relaxed portraiture.

Our approach is natural, candid, and unobtrusive. We capture real emotions and fleeting moments while allowing couples and guests to enjoy the day without interruption. Couples often describe us as discreet, friendly, and “almost invisible” on their wedding day.

How We Capture Your Wedding Day

At the Home or Hotel
We start about 2 hours before the ceremony, capturing the excitement and fun as everyone gets ready – from hair and make-up to sipping champagne. We love photographing the little details, from flowers to laughter. While Susan documents the Bride’s preparations, John captures the Groom and groomsmen getting ready, from ties and cufflinks to relaxed moments with family and friends. If possible, John likes to capture a quick pint or a toast before heading to the ceremony early to capture social candids of the Groom, family, and friends.

The Ceremony
During the ceremony, we work unobtrusively in a mix of colour and black-and-white, capturing the big moments and the subtle, emotional ones. We photograph guests arriving, the Bride walking down the aisle, the registry shots, and the newly-weds exiting the church. Outside, we take candid group shots, confetti or rose petal moments, and relaxed family portraits.

The Reception
At the reception venue, we take the couple aside for some special moments together, capturing the romance and letting them enjoy a few minutes away from the crowds. We then photograph traditional or relaxed groups of family and friends, as well as candid reportage of the party atmosphere. We also document details like place settings, the cake, flowers, and other elements that make the day unique. Optional evening coverage is available if desired.

Speeches, First Dances & Fun (“Craic”)
We love photographing the moments that make your wedding day truly memorable – the laughter, the tears, and the stories that come out during speeches. From heartfelt to hilarious, we capture reactions as friends and family share their memories and well wishes.

The first dance is always a highlight – a beautiful, emotional moment for the couple. We make sure to capture it in a way that feels natural, romantic, and full of atmosphere.

And of course, we capture the craic – the fun, energy, and lively spirit that make Irish weddings so special. Whether it’s guests dancing, chatting, sharing a toast, or just enjoying the moment, we document the atmosphere so couples can relive the joy and excitement long after the day is over.

We can also coordinate with professional videographers to ensure both photography and video are seamlessly covered.
